Die U.S. Army’s European Rotational Force führt in diesen Wochen eine großangelegte Militärübung auf dem Gelände im oberpfälzischen Grafenwöhr durch. Seit dem 8. August simulieren hier 3.500 Soldaten aus den Vereinigten Staaten sowie den NATO-Partnern aus Armenien, Bosnien-Herzegowina, Belgien, Bulgarien, Frankreich, Ungarn, Mazedonien, Moldawien, Montenegro, Norwegen, Polen, Rumänien, Serbien, Slowenien und der Ukraine Kampfgeschehen zu Boden wie in der Luft. Vonseiten der Amerikaner nimmt die 1. Panzer Brigade der 3. Infanteriedivision, genannt Raiders, an der Übung teil. Ziel ist es, die Zusammenarbeit mit den Partnern insbesondere in den Bereichen Flexibilität, Agilität und Kampffähigkeit zu verbessern. Die Übung endet am 15. September.

The U.S. Army’s European Rotational Force will participate in a major exercise alongside NATO allies and partner-nation forces at the Army’s Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels Training Areas in southeastern Germany, Aug. 8 to Sept. 15, 2016. Exercise Combined Resolve VII will include more than 3,500 participants from Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Hungary, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine, and the United States. The 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division (Raiders), stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia, is the brigade combat team designated as the Army’s regionally-allocated force for the U.S. European Command.
This exercise is designed to provide the Raiders Brigade with multinational training and partnership opportunities that will enhance the flexibility, agility and ability to better operate alongside NATO allies and partners in Europe. Combined Resolve VII is a preplanned exercise that is not part of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Combined Resolve VII will be conducted in four phases. The first phase beginning Aug. 8 and ending Sept.15, 2016 includes continuing efforts in planning and coordination. The second phase will include a Command Post Exercise and a Combined Arms Live-Fire Exercise on the Grafenwoehr Training Area. The exercise will then move to the Hohenfels Training Area for a two-week combat training center rotation. Once complete, the rotational force will begin preparation for movement back to the United States.
